Emergency Online Learning Solutions Spring 2020

Online Learning Options for School or District Closures with District Teachers

All Pennsylvania LEAs (this includes public school districts, public charter schools, and CTC’s) will have FREE and OPTIONAL access (fully funded by PDE) to enroll students into any one of the three online digital content solutions within the Edgenuity and Odysseyware catalog of services, K-12.

This solution would involve the use of district teachers to provide all instructional support and grading.  There would be some ability to customize the course content while staying in line with NCAA and Advanced Placement course guidelines at the secondary level.

An Edgenuity site license can be purchased on a monthly basis.  The anticipated timeline of use would be one week for training/set-up, two weeks for instructional time, and one week to close out coursework.

Platform Options

  • Grades 6-12 would access to the Edgenuity platform of courses.
  • Grades 3-5 would access Edgenuity’s Odysseyware platform of courses.
  • Grades K-2 would access Edgenuity’s Spark platform of courses, which only include ELA and Math courses.

Training details are evolving.

Homebound, Self-quarantined, Quarantined, or Isolated Students

For individual students who are not able to attend school, the Bridges Virtual program can offer a customized homebound solution using the Edgenuity platform of courses.  Bridges will work with the home school counselor or instructional point-of-contact to determine the proper entry point into the student’s courses.  Instruction would be provided by Edgenuity’s Pennsylvania certified online teachers.

Homebound instruction would be billed on a weekly basis.  Pricing:

$30 registration fee (non-refundable)
$32 per course per week
